Illidan & Tyrande:青袖

"Greensleeves" is a traditional English folk song and tune, basically a ground of the form called a romanesca.

....A widely-believed (but completely unproven) legend is that it was composed by King Henry VIII (1491-1547) for his lover and future queen consort Anne Boleyn. Anne, the oldest daughter of Thomas Boleyn, rejected Henry's attempts to seduce her. This rejection is apparently referred to in the song, when the writer's love "cast me off discourteously." However, it is most unlikely that King Henry VIII wrote it, as the song is written in a style which was not known in England until after Henry VIII died.

It is widely acknowledged that Lady Green Sleeves was at the very least a promiscuous young woman and perhaps a prostitute. At this time, the word "green" also had sexual connotations, most notably in the phrase "a green gown", a reference to the way that grass stains might be seen on a ladies' dress if she had made love outside. An alternative explanation is that Lady Green Sleeves was, as a result of her attire, incorrectly assumed to be immoral. Her "discourteous" rejection of the singer's advances quite clearly makes the point that she is not.

(人懒于是wiki。然而上面这段真的让我黑线了……)

喜欢这歌很久了。今天想起来,居然让我感觉很Illidan/Tyrande……默

Alas my love you do me wrong
To cast me off discourteously;
And I have loved you oh so long
Delighting in your company.

I have been ready at your hand
To grant whatever thou would'st crave;
I have waged both life and land
Your love and goodwill for to have.

Greensleeves was my delight,
Greensleeves my heart of gold
Greensleeves was my heart of joy
And who but my lady Greensleeves.
